CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — An SUV crashed into the rear of a semitractor-trailer in southeast Wyoming state, killing a Jenison, Michigan man and two children.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the accident occurred about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 80 east of Cheyenne.
The patrol says the truck was transporting an oversize load and was either slowly moving or stopped when the Toyota Highlander driven by 45-year-old David Knotts, of Jenison crashed into it.
The patrol says it had troopers at the scene who were helping with the oversize load movement at the time.
It says the Highlander came upon the truck at a highway speed.
Two children, ages 9 and 6, were traveling with Knotts. The patrol did not release their names.
