Three children killed, one critically injured in Daviess County crash – WKYT
DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky State Police say three children died Saturday night after a woman lost control of her vehicle on a highway in Daviess County.
State Police say the driver was Laurie Swanson, 32, from Owensboro. Swanson was driving eastbound on KY 56 when she came upon another vehicle that was partially in her lane. State Police say she swerved to avoid the vehicle, over-corrected, and lost control. Her 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe ran off the road and into a bean field.
The coroner pronounced two children, Hunter Glass, 10, and Sierra Morris, 13, dead at the scene. State Police say the third child, Alexandra Glass, 12, died at the hospital.
A fourth child, Catherine Glass, 7, is in critical condition at Kosair Hospital in Louisville. All four of those children were ejected from the SUV and were not wearing seatbelts, according to State Police.
A 14-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a one-year-old survived the crash, along with the driver.
