Cambridge is hiring a Lego professor “of Play in Education, Development, and … – Quartz
Perhaps as a child, you thought that playing with Lego was all you wanted to do for the rest of your life. (Perhaps you’ve even felt this way as an adult.) The University of Cambridge might have the perfect job for you.
The prestigious school has an opening for a “Professorship of Play in Education, Development, and Learning.†The position, which still needs to go through final recommendations, would start in October and be supported by an endowment from the LEGO Foundation, which aims “to build a future where learning through play empowers children to become creative, engaged, life-long learners.†It’s contributing £2.5 million to establish the post.
Whoever gets the job also will be appointed director of the new Research Centre on Play in Education, Development, and Learning, which the LEGO Foundation is supporting with a £1.5 million gift.
