Activities scheduled at this year’s Hancock County Fair:
WEDNESDAY
Senior Citizens and Veterans Day: Adults 60 and over, and veterans with proper identification admitted for $2 per person.
All day: Gospel pavilion open.
7 a.m. — Gates open.
8 a.m. — Junior Fair horse show, north grandstand.
9 a.m. — Open class judging of farm products, horticulture, woodworking, domestic arts and crafts, hobbies and collections, Granges, and baking department, at Grange Building; Junior Fair booth judging, Youth Building; Junior Fair FFA and home economics judging, Education Building; Junior Fair poultry showmanship.
9:30 a.m. — Junior Fair swine show, south show arena.
10 a.m. — Junior Fair rabbit showmanship, north show arena; Hancock County residents horseshoe pitching.
1 p.m. — Open class special draft horse show, north grandstand; Junior Fair duke and duchess contest, mini park.
2 p.m. — 4-H in Action, Youth Building.
4 p.m. — 4-H photo contest, Youth Building.
5 p.m. — Open class baked goods auction, Grange Building.
6 p.m. — Open class photography judging, Grange Building.
7:30 p.m. — Opening ceremonies, south grandstand; Junior Fair king and queen coronation, south grandstand, followed by Hancock County Band Show.
11 p.m. — Fairgrounds closes.
THURSDAY
All day: Gospel pavilion open.
7 a.m. — Gates open.
8 a.m. — Open class lamb carcass, followed by Junior Fair sheep breeding, then showmanship, south show arena; Junior Fair horse show, north grandstand, followed by Junior Fair draft horse show.
9 a.m. — Open class antiques and canning judging, Grange Building.
Noon — Junior Fair Boer goat show, south show arena; Flower judging, Grange Building
1 p.m. — Open class theme basket judging, Grange Building; Cloverbud fun, Youth Building.
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — Junior Fair premium pickup for Wednesday’s shows, Junior Fair office.
2 p.m. — Junior Fair dairy feeder show, north show arena; Youth in Action, Youth Building.
4 p.m. — Kathy’s Korner pie eating contest, mini park; Cookie eating contest. 5 p.m. — Open class rabbit show, north show arena.
6 p.m. — Harness racing, south grandstand; Junior Fair sheep market classes, south show arena.
7 p.m. — Crop Production Services calf scramble, north grandstand.
11 p.m. — Fairgrounds closes.
FRIDAY
All day: Gospel pavilion open.

9 a.m. — Open class saddle horse and pony show, north grandstand; Junior Fair dog show, show tent.
10:30 a.m. — Junior Fair dairy goat show, south show arena.
11 a.m. — Junior Fair /Open class beef show, north show arena. Order: beef feeder showmanship, beef feeders, beef showmanship, Hosler-Corbin Insurance Agency dairy steer, HCCC steers, market steers, half-hour lunch break, Junior Fair beef breeding, open class beef breeding.
Noon — Flower judging, Grange Building.
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — Junior Fair premium pickup for Thursday’s shows, Junior Fair office.
2 p.m. — Youth in Action, Youth Building.
5:30 p.m. — Junior Fair best-dressed goat contest, south show arena.
6 p.m. — 4-H freestyle riding, followed by barrel battle, north grandstand; Camp Reunion, Youth Building.
7 p.m. — Junior Fair goat obstacle course, north show arena.

SATURDAY

10 a.m. — Junior Fair dairy feeder base bid auction, north show arena, followed by beef feeder base bid auction; Open class singles horseshoe pitching; Safe Kids, Youth Building.
11 a.m. — Coloring contest registration, Youth Building.
Noon — Coloring contest judging, Youth Building; Flower judging, Grange Building.
1 p.m. — Open class draft horse and pony hitch show, north grandstand; Little Dresses for Haiti service project, Youth Building.

2 p.m. — Cloverbud graduation, mini park; Goat milking contest, goat barn.
3:30 p.m. — Best-dressed small animal contest, show tent; Guys and Gals Lead Show, south show arena.
6 p.m. — Modified tractor and truck pulls, south grandstand.
