The Force is funny with these Star Wars parody Twitter accounts – CNET
Warning: This post contains spoilers, so if you’re one of the five people who still haven’t seen “The Force Awakens,” you may want to click away.
Since “The Force Awakens brought Star Wars forward to today, naturally we went looking for our favorite characters’ parody Twitter accounts.
Fortunately, they don’t disappoint.
We’ve collected some of the best Star Wars parody accounts around, some new, some older, to fill your timeline with humor from the Star Wars universe. From Emo Kylo Ren to Bad Father Han Solo and Very Lonely Luke Skywalker, these seven accounts focus on the funny side of the Force. Fittingly, some of the jokes are a little on the dark side.
Of course, you definitely won’t want to follow them until you’ve actually seen “The Force Awakens,” as some of their tweets, and even their biographies, reveal some pretty major spoilers from the movie. You’ve been warned.
Emo Kylo Ren (@KyloR3n)
Kylo Ren is the new Star Wars villain looking to finish the work started by Darth Vader, Ren’s grandfather, it turns out. Of course, Ren gives off more of a whiny teenager vibe than that of a full-fledged Sith Lord, making the Emo Kylo Ren Twitter account a perfect representation of this troubled character’s struggles.
Very Lonely Luke Skywalker (@VeryLonelyLuke)
We finally know why Luke Skywalker was missing from the trailers for “The Force Awakens,” and his absence was definitely not an accident. It turns out Luke sent himself into isolation after Kylo Ren destroyed the last of the Jedi, and the Very Lonely Luke Twitter account gives an insightful look into the mind of Luke Skywalker in the days, months or maybe years he spent by himself.
Arrogant BB-8 (@ArrogantBB8)
Even before “The Force Awakens” landed in theaters, the rolling ball droid BB-8 stole the hearts of fans with its beeps and boops. Unfortunately, that adoration must have gone to its head, making the astromech droid a bit more arrogant. The @ArrogantBB8 Twitter account is filled with the sorts of tweets you’d expect from a droid who let a little fame pump up its ego a little too much.
Not Arrogant BB-8 (@BB8)
If @ArrogantBB8 is a little too cocky for you, the @BB8 account has some of the cute, quirky characteristics we loved with the onscreen BB-8 droid. How can you not love the eccentric astromech droid hanging out among a brood of baby chicks or playing with a curious kitty?
Bad Father Han Solo (@BadFatherHan)
We don’t know much about what Han Solo was like as a dad, but he couldn’t have done that great of a job if his (presumably only) Force-sensitive child ended up turning to the dark side. The tweets for the Bad Han Solo account are mostly about how messed up and/or emotional Kylo Ren is, but they’re all funny and capture the essence of the scruffy-looking nerf herder Han Solo.
Glum George Lucas (@GlumGeorgeLucas)
“The Force Awakens” is the first Star Wars movie creator George Lucas wasn’t heavily involved in, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have ideas for how it could be better. Enter the Glum George Lucas Twitter account, which only just started tweeting on Tuesday but has a handful of gems suggesting that the new Star Wars film would be better with more green screen, Ewoks and podracing.
Depressed Darth Vader (@DepressedDarth)
This account has been around for years, but if you somehow aren’t following @DepressedDarth, you’re missing out. Depressed Darth puts out tons of tweets, Instagram photos and Vines about all things Star Wars that are all but guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I’m still laughing at the hilarious GIF of BB-8 getting kicked around like a soccer ball in the tweet above.
Following these seven accounts might just keep you entertained during the long wait until the next Star Wars movie comes to theaters. “Star Wars: Episode VIII” is scheduled to premiere worldwide on May 26, 2017.
