Chamblee pediatrician accused of sexual battery – Atlanta Journal Constitution
A DeKalb County pediatrician was arrested Friday for alleged sexual battery of a woman, according to Chamblee police.
Jose Rios, a doctor at Primary Care Center of Chamblee, was charged with two counts of sexual battery and booked into the DeKalb County jail, Capt. Ernesto Ford said.
Chamblee police began investigating Rios after several complaints, Ford said in an emailed statement.
“The complaints ranged from inappropriate statements which were sexual in nature directed at mothers of pediatric patients to groping of the breasts and buttocks,” Ford said.
Rios, 54, was being held Friday afternoon on $2,500 bond, booking records showed.
A spokeswoman with the primary care center sent this statement to Channel 2 Action News:
“We are cooperating with authorities after a physician was taken into custody by Chamblee police. The allegations involve the physician and an adult female, who was not a patient. The physician was immediately placed on administrative leave. The health and safety of our patients and their families remain our top priority.”
