WCVB is the media sponsor for the event.  NewsCenter 5 anchor Heather Unruh was the lead representative for the station’s team of walkers.

5,000 walkers, including Boston Children’s Hospital patients, families and hospital staff members, registered for the walk.

The walk was held at DCR’s Baxter Park at Assembly Row in Somerville.

“We’re grateful to our walkers and corporate partners for their commitment to raising funds for Boston Children’s life-saving care and world-changing research,” said Sandra Fenwick, President and CEO, Boston Children’s Hospital.

The goal for this year’s walk was to raise $1.8 million.

“Eversource is proud to have contributed significantly to the growth and success of the Walk,” said Tom May, Chairman, President and CEO of Eversource. “To know that our long-term partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital has helped this world-renowned hospital continue to save lives, I can’t think of a better reason to remain a champion and sponsor of this great event.”

Since its launch in 2003, walkers have raised over $14 million for the hospital.
