Authors and illustrators who have won some of the biggest awards in children’s literature will share the magic Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Children’s Book Festival in Farmville.

Kwame Alexander, who won the top Newbery prize for his book “The Crossover,” and Jacqueline Woodson, who won the National Book Award for “Brown Girl Dreaming,” are among the stars who will read from their works, participate in panels, create new stories and even taste the blackberry fool from Sophie Blackall’s “A Fine Dessert.”
